Ideas! How about a Bookcase with Optional Top Compartment?
The photos above picture a bookcase with an optional top compartment. While this bookcase has a traditional hidden compartment, the additional hidden space on top is also well concealed and provides a handy place to keep important items neatly out of sight. The photo on the right shows the top compartment in the open position. Made of solid pine, our standard bookcase has a few knots for a casual appearance and it has a smooth and durable finish. The color shown is Honey.

The bookcase on the left is from our Contemporary Collection. The case and shelves are made of clear pine (only the wainscotting has knots) so it has a more formal appearance than the standard model and it features a finer finish. It has a hidden compartment, of course. The color shown is Golden Brown.

Our Contemporary Collection bookcase may also be requested in taller, thinner versions that fit easily on walls as narrow as 18 inches.
